Abstract:The spin transport properties of electrons through a quasi-one-dimensional quantum wire are investigated. Different numbers of gates which induce the local Rashba-type spin-orbit interaction is considered. The total length of the gate-voltage applied domain is the same in each case, but it is divided into either two or three sections. The ballistic transmission probability as a function of the incident electron energy and the strength of the Rashba spinorbit interaction is calculated by using the quantum trans… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
