Abstract:The gradient delay volume is arguably one of the most important, yet least appreciated, parameters that affect how gradient elution separations in LC work. This has implications both for method development and for method transfer during the lifecycle of a LC method. In this installment, I will review the concept of gradient delay volume, its physical connection to the LC instrument, and how it can impact method development and separation quality.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
