The groundwater balance in alluvial plain aquifer at Dehgolan, Kurdistan, Iran

Abstract: In this research, groundwater balance in Dehgolan plain, Kurdistan, Iran was carried out to assess changes in the level and volume of groundwater and water resources management. For this purpose, water resources supplies and consumption data, amount of charging and discharge and water level data recorded from wells and piezometers from 2010 to 2011 water year were gathered and analyzed. Rainfall and water losses of the study area were determined and required maps, including Iso-maps of the temperature, the eva… Show more

“…Geologically, Dehgolan basin is part of Sanandaj-Sirjan zone and has the same geological history as Iran central zone. However, its structure is more similar to the Zagros (Alavi, 1994;Amini and Homayounfar, 2016). The maximum elevation of this area is about 2880 m from the sea In this research, the ERA-I reanalysis model published by ECMWF has been used to perform 3D ray tracing technique.…”

“…Groundwater is the source of drinking water in many parts of the world. While in many countries in recent years, the quantity and quality of this valuable resource are diminished (Amini and Homayounfar 2017;Gharibreza et al 2018). The Water Quality Index (WQI) is one of the indices used to assess the quality of groundwater (Bhimanagouda, et al 2020).…”
