Abstract:Obesity is associated with the gut microbiome. Here, we report that gut commensal Clostridia bacteria regulate host energy balance through the tryptophan‐derived metabolite indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA). IPA acts as an endogenous leptin sensitiser to counteract obesity.
