The Haematology Analyser SF-3000: performance of the automated white blood cell differential count in comparison to the Haematology Analyser NE-1500

Abstract: The present study evaluates the performance of automated white blood cell (WBC) differential counts by the new Haematology Analyser SF-3000. Five hundred and sixty-six WBC differential counts performed by the SF-3000 were compared with WBC differential counts of the well established analyser NE-1500 and to manual reference counts. Numerical results of the WBC differential counts were correlated to each other by regression analyses. The efficiency of instrument flagging for the presence of abnormal WBC was expr… Show more

“…The XE 2100 (Sysmex Corporation, Japan) is a recently introduced fully automated blood cell counter that utilizes new technology to extend the range of quantitative cell analyses to include a nucleated red cell count, an immature granulocyte count (metamyelocytes, myelocytes and promyelocytes) and an optical¯uorescent platelet count in situations where an impedance count may be unreliable. The analyser is a development from earlier Sysmex systems, particularly the SE 9000 and 9500 (Besson 1996 1 1 ;Pollard et al 1999), the R series of automated reticulocyte counters (Tichelli et al 1990) and the SF 3000 (Korninger et al 1998).…”

Subacute Effects of Dexamethasone on the Number of WBCs --After 5 days of prefeeding, the rats were divided into dexamethasone (dose = 1.0 mg/kg BW per day, n = 11, the initial BW = 259 ± 3 g, mean ± SEM) and control groups (n = 10, the initial BW = 260 ± 2 g, mean ± SEM).…”
