The Histocompatibility Complex SL‐A in the Pig. Possible Recombination Between the Regions Governing MLR and Serology Respectively

Abstract: The present study concerns a family of pigs genotypically defined for the SL-A system (major histocompatibility system in this species). One of this siblings showed evidence of a dissociation between serological and MLC characteristics. A thorough study of this case suggested different but linked loci for the SL-A antigens as serologically defined at present and for the MLC respectively. Furthermore, one-way MLC revealed a stimulation of heterozygous by homozygous cells for the SL-A system.
