The highly depleted oxygen isotopes of the Cretaceous Niobrara Formation chalks of north‐east Colorado, USA, are globally anomalous and were investigated by Simon et al (2023). Using clumped isotopes of calcite (Δ 47 ), pyrolysis data and strontium and neodymium isotopes, a clearer appreciation of the unique history of these chalks is elucidated.…”
