Abstract:Elevated cholesterol poses a significant cardiovascular risk, particularly in older women. The glucocorticoid receptor (GR), a crucial nuclear transcription factor that regulates the metabolism of virtually all major nutrients, harbors a still undefined role in cholesterol regulation.
