The Immunomodulatory and Regenerative Effect of Biodentine™ on Human THP‐1 Cells and Dental Pulp Stem Cells: In Vitro Study

Abstract: Background. Pulp tissue affected by deep caries and trauma can be protected by vital pulp therapies in which pulp regeneration success depends on the degree of pulp inflammation and the presence of regenerative signals. Reparative dentinogenesis requires dental pulp stem cell (DPSC) activity which can be stimulated by many bioactive molecules to repair the dentine, mediating a balance between the inflammatory response and the reparative events. Therefore, this study was performed in order to investigate the im… Show more

“…Finally, the keywords related to biodentine in endodontics point towards a multidisciplinary strategy. [48][49][50][51][52][53] Thus, the co-occurrence network of terms reveals the salient content of articles and research topics as a whole in the form of clusters 54,55 . In this way, co-occurrence maps are illuminating because they show how different fields of study contribute to the genesis of scientific articles [56][57][58][59] .…”

“…The cells, with spindle morphology, self-renewal ability, and multiple differentiation potential, isolated from pulp tissue, are called DPSCs. During infection and injury, DPSCs enhance their proliferation and differentiation ability and stimulate the migration of pulp progenitor cells to the site, where they generate a protective layer to protect and repair dentin [ 111 113 ]. Therefore, their potential therapeutic role in dental caries and other oral diseases has attracted increasing attention from researchers.…”

“…Interleukin-1β (IL-1β), IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12p70, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) levels were determined in maternal total serum from MPH and MSPH women by flow cytometry using the Cytometric Bead Array (CBA) Human Inflammatory Cytokine Kit (BD, Biosciences, Franklin Lakes, NJ, USA), as described [23]. The results were expressed as the mean fluorescence intensity (MFI).…”
