Abstract:Purpose the current study focuses on evaluating the level of natural radioactivity in fifteen samples taken from five different building materials in Al-Shatra, Dhi-Qar Governorate, Iraq. Methods used a sodium iodide detector NaI (TI). Results the average activities of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K are found to be 19.7 ± 6.7, 20.14 ± 3.3 and 232.24 ± 91Bqkg− 1, respectively.
