Abstract: The purpose of the study is to assess the impact of European integration processes in Ukraine on the development of investment potential and institutional maturity of rural communities. As a result of the analysis of strategic documents of all rural communities of Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Rivne regions, a low level of institutional capacity to attract investments was established. “…It is not surprising that many programs of regional economic development are not implemented in the initial form and authorities have no any responsibility for the results of their implementation. At least, it is well-known practise in countries with immature institutional environment of regional strategic planning of the economy (Kostiukevych et al, 2020). However, if the program objectives were not achieved, it confirms the hypothesis that in the program management practice little attention was paid to determining the causal relationships between the project goals and results as well as the expected results of the programs within which these projects are implemented.…”

“…-competence and motivation of project management; -availability of methodologies adapted to the processes; -systematic management processes and their improvement. The strategies of strategic integration in the united territorial communities proposed in the study (Kostiukevych et al, 2020) form the basis for the development of regional development strategies, taking into account the above-mentioned principles.…”

“…Furthermore, the exemplary scenario, representing a lowly populated residential area (Chapter 4), was used here mainly for reasons of simplicity and to demonstrate the general applicability of the framework. However, researchers recognize a large potential for the energy transition in such rural regions [86] (p. 58), which holds further need for research [87,88] (p. 103). Although the simulation framework presented here encourages us to experiment with various scenarios and system configurations, it easily neglects the complex processes that (must) precede such a what-if state.…”

“…As fundamental instruments of the research into SESs, correlation-regression and multicriteria assessment methods do not compete, but rather complement each other, thus forming a comprehensive system of complex research. The choice of factors influencing SESs development depends on aim and objectives of research, scale of the SESs, so, they can include performance indicators or its prerequisites (Bilan et al, 2020;Bobenič Hintošová et al, 2018;Kostiukevych et al, 2020) In the first stage of such a research, the condition of a PPC, for instance, corporate staff, marketing system quality, economic performance, socioeconomic development of a country/region, etc., is assessed by means of applying multi-criteria assessment methods (Gedvilaitė, 2019;McLaren et al, 1998;Molly, 2018;Oželienė, 2019;Strezov et al, 2017;Volkov, 2018). In the second stage, correlation-regression analysis is invoked to find out what impact this condition had on different SES parameters, e.g., what impact the quality of corporate staff had on corporate economic performance.…”
