Abstract:YabG is a sporulation‐specific protease that is conserved among sporulating bacteria. Clostridioides difficile YabG processes the cortex destined proteins preproSleC into proSleC and CspBA to CspB and CspA. YabG also affects synthesis of spore coat/exosporium proteins CotA and CdeM.
