The impact of selected variants of remote control on power supply reliability indexes of distribution networks

Abstract: Ensuring reliability and continuity of energy supply is the main goal of local governments and distribution companies. The continuity of energy supply means capability of a power grid to supply agreed amount of energy, of specific quality, without power cuts. The expectations concerning the quality of supplied energy and ensuring its continuity are constantly growing, and any power cuts have significant impact on comfort of life and manufacturing and service sector. To increase reliability of energy supply and… Show more

“…An essential part of this study is the reliability and exploitation calculations of power grids. Similar issues are also presented in the article [34]. However, the authors focused here on the analysis of the lack of power supply continuity in the example of four variants of remote control on the sequence of a medium-voltage cable line.…”

“…What is more, the FAS has been fitted with a DTAIDS transceiver, which receives technical state signals from the GES. An additional DTAIDS is organized for the purposes of the FAS alone [40,120,121]. After the alarm is acknowledged by the local operators in the building, the alarm signal is sent from this transmitter to the SFB.…”

“…The literature [32][33][34][35][36] finds that, in a technical system, the failure of one subsystem in the system can cause the malfunction of the entire complex technical facility or part of the system. For this reason, complex technical objects and information systems are powered from two independent sources.…”
