Historical news media reports serve as a vital data source for understanding the risk of urban ground collapse (UGC) events. At present, the application of large language models (LLMs) offers unprecedented opportunities to effectively extract UGC events and their spatiotemporal information from a vast amount of news reports and media data. Therefore, this study proposes an LLM-based inventory construction framework consisting of three steps: news reports crawling, UGC event recognition, and event attribute extraction. Focusing on Zhejiang province, China, as the test region, a total of 27 cases of collapse events from 637 news reports were collected for 11 prefecture-level cities. The method achieved a recall rate of over 60% and a precision below 35%, indicating its potential for effectively and automatically screening collapse events; however, the accuracy needs to be improved to account for confusion with other urban collapse events, such as bridge collapses. The obtained UGC event inventory is the first open access inventory based on internet news reports, event dates and locations, and collapse co-ordinates derived from unstructured contents. Furthermore, this study provides insights into the spatial pattern of UGC frequency in Zhejiang province, effectively supplementing the statistical data provided by the local government.

Dengan peningkatan aktivitas konstruksi gedung di seluruh dunia, dampak lingkungan telah menjadi perhatian utama yang memerlukan pertimbangan serius. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi konstruksi gedung sebagai sumber dampak lingkungan dan memberikan gambaran tentang metode analisis dampak lingkungan. Tinjauan terhadap proses konstruksi menyoroti kompleksitas tahapan perencanaan, konstruksi fisik, dan operasional. Fokus pada jenis bahan konstruksi membedakan antara material konvensional dan yang ramah lingkungan, serta menyoroti inovasi terkini. Pentingnya penggunaan teknologi modern dan dampaknya terhadap efisiensi dan lingkungan juga ditekankan. Tinjauan metode Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) menjadi kunci dalam menganalisis dampak lingkungan, dengan mempertimbangkan aspek sosial dan ekonomi. Melalui studi kasus, proyek konstruksi gedung dan smelter pertambangan diidentifikasi sebagai penyebab dampak lingkungan yang signifikan. Identifikasi ini menciptakan peluang untuk mitigasi dan inovasi yang sesuai dengan konteks. Tantangan mengurangi dampak lingkungan melibatkan koordinasi pemangku kepentingan dan perubahan perilaku industri, namun peluang inovasi berkelanjutan memberikan landasan positif menuju industri konstruksi yang lebih ramah lingkungan.

The ecological footprint and ecosystem service functions in the northwest arid region of China have their unique characteristics and are limited by natural resources. The coordination level between the pressure of human activities on the ecosystem and the ecosystem service capacity can be objectively reflected on by exploring the coupling coordination relationship between these two aspects. This work used the ecological footprint and Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs models to quantitatively analyze the spatial and temporal variations of the ecological footprint and ecosystem service functions in the Aksu region in Xinjiang. A coupling coordination degree model and spatial autocorrelation analysis were used to assess the coupling coordination level and spatial agglomeration characteristics of the regional ecological footprint and ecosystem service functions. The results showed that the ecological footprint of the Aksu region has been high in the northeast and low in the southwest, with noticeable spatial heterogeneity, from 2005 to 2018. Carbon (66.17%) and cropland (26.64%) are the main contributing factors to the regional ecological footprint. The biocapacity is dominated by cropland, built-up land, and forest land. The ecological footprint and biocapacity showed an increasing trend, ranging from an ecological surplus to an ecological deficit, with a continued ecological deficit. The level of ecosystem service functions in the Aksu region was low, with significant spatial variability. The high values were concentrated in the northern part of the region and the Tarim and Hotan River Basins. The coupling coordination level of the ecological footprint and ecosystem service functions in the Aksu area was high in the north and low in the south. The aforementioned coupling coordination level was dominated by the spatial pattern of the ecosystem service functions and had noticeable spatial agglomeration characteristics. The coupling coordination degree of the ecological footprint and water supply function showed an upward trend. By contrast, the coupling coordination degree of the ecological footprint with soil conservation and biodiversity maintenance functions showed a downward trend.
