Abstract: For protein evaluation of feedstuffs for ruminants, the Streptomyces griseus protease test provides a solely enzymatic method for estimating ruminal protein degradation. Since plant proteins are often structured in carbohydrate complexes, the use of carbohydrase during the test might improve its accuracy.
