“…Participation in the study was voluntary; perhaps students with more difficult transition experiences chose not to participate. Participants all attended a re-entry retreat, which have been shown to reduce levels of depression, stress, and anxiety in adjusting to college (Davis et al, 2010), which may have resulted in more positive transition experiences for the participants of this study. This study focused on the experience of missionary kids, a subset of TCKs, and our participants identified primarily as White, Christian, and female.…”
