Highly qualified academics are considered valuable assets for higher education institutions, due to their role in shaping the development of students and providing them with academic and professional guidance. Thus, this research examines the impact of talent management on academics, the impact of talent management on leadership and explores the mediating role of leadership in the relationship between talent management and academics. The research objectives were achieved through an online survey conducted by the researcher. The study revealed the significant positive impact of talent management in higher education institutions on academics and also on leadership. Moreover, the study revealed the significant positive indirect impact on academics through leadership as a mediator. Recommendations are presented by the researcher for the implementation of effective talent management in higher education institutions through leadership.
