“…The largest tsunami wave height in the southern region—164 cm—was recorded at Santa Cruz, Ecuador, located on the coast of one of the Galapagos Islands (see Figure 1). Actually, most of the listed stations recorded tsunami waves that were higher, on average, that those during other tsunami events, including the 2004 Sumatra tsunami (Rabinovich et al., 2006), the 2010, 2014 and 2015 Chilean tsunamis (Zaytsev et al., 2016), the 2011 Tohoku (Zaytsev et al., 2017) and 2017 Chiapas tsunamis (Zaytsev et al., 2021).
