Public organizations all over the world have to confront renewed challenges and obstacles to meet citizens' needs. Indeed, Omani organizations are required to have leadership behaviours that clearly encourage and foster subordinates' performance by enhancing employees' commitment. The aim of this paper is to explore the influence of transformational leadership on organizational commitment in Omani public organizations. The quantitative data was collected through survey instrument. The current research utilized AMOS to investigate the measurement model and test the proposed hypothesised relationship between the constructs. The population for this study consisted of Omani public organization that apply civil service law. The sample consists of 336 middle managers in Omani public organizations. The results found that transformational leadership play a pivotal role in enhancing organizational commitment. Specifically, core transformational leadership has a direct impact on all organizational commitment dimensions (affective, normative, and continuance). Whereas, providing individualized support, intellectual stimulation, and setting high performance expectation have a direct impact on both continuance and normative commitment.

Community involvement in forest and land fires management at site level is important due to the community can play a central role in preventing forest and land fires. One of the programs that involves the community in controlling forest and land fires is the Fire Care Community or Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA). The MPA institution is a group consisting of members who join voluntarily. As a organization, MPA requires leadership that is able to mobilize members to carry out their role. MPA Wonorejo in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province, is one of the successful MPAs. In this case the leader of MPA Wonorejo received the Wana Lestari award from the Minister of Environment and Forestry in 2018. With the case study method, this research was conducted to explore the leadership style that has been applied to the Wonorejo MPA. The results showed that MPA Wonorejo's leadership style is a transformational style with charismatic characters, inspires members, encourages intellectuality and provides individual attention. The leader of MPA has an important role in mobilizing MPA members to play a role in fire control.

A large number of research studies have produced abundant literature on explaining the relationship and significance of leadership styles and job performance. These researches have also further explained the ways how it could be strengthen this relationship. To continue these guidelines a huge number of studies are conducted in order to explain the nature and weight of the leadership styles, particularly transactional leadership style and transformational leadership style in relation to job performance. Despite enormous literature on these relationships, there are still controversies on the results and ways in which the leadership styles and job performance relationships were found so far. Looking at the literature it is found that there is confusing findings on these relationships of job performance with leadership styles. The present paper takes it as an important element of transactional leadership and transformational leadership in the domain of human resource management particularly with regards to job performance. Therefore, to answer these confusions of the researchers the present paper proposes performance appraisal politics as moderating variable to know the relationship more clear in job performance with leadership styles. These relationships may further be tested in view of Leader member exchange (LMX), and equity, fairness and justice theories for further empirical evidence.
