Abstract:This study investigates the impact of three types of epidemics on green innovation output using interaction terms and asystem of simultaneous equations, using data from around the world from 2010 to 2019 in 66 countries. Our empiricalevidence confirms that epidemic intensity is a key factor influencing green innovation and hindering internationaltechnology spillovers through international and regional R&D investment. Finally, we discuss the policy implications ofour results.
