Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is the policy of the Minister of Education, Culture and Independent Culture aims to encourage students to study various sciences that will help them enter the world of work. The implementation of the MBKM program in extracurricular Education courses must have added value for teachers, students, and education staff. Based on the field survey, this survey leads to a discussion on the level of academic participation in the implementation of MBKM. The purpose of this study is to explain the preparation for implementing the MBKM program and the obstacles. Methods This survey was conducted through a descriptive survey using a survey methodology. The subjects in this study were lecturers, students, and education staff in the PLS research program. Research results from the academic community understand MBKM in the research program environment, the MBKM curriculum document is edited, the research program has courses related to the MBKM program, and entrepreneurial activities support MBKM. The obstacles are limited funds, the academic information system is not optimal, lack of talent, lack of information about the MBKM program.

The policy of ‘Independent Campus-Freedom to Learn’ known as MBKM is currently participated by the students in Indonesia as it could provide the credit transfer of 20-60. This research aimed to investigate the students’ perceptions on the implementation of MBKM. The participants of this research were 98 students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka, Jakarta. The method used was a descriptive analysis design. The instrument used was a questionnaire completed by the students who already joined MBKM programs initiated either by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology or their study programs. The results showed that the students’ knowledge of MBKM policy was very good (92%) and their interests in MBKM program was also very good (98%). This research had some implications. The students’ involvements in MBKM programs increased and the capacity on the attitudes and skills also improved. Thus, this influences the sustainability of MBKM in the future.

Through the Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar program, students will have an entrepreneurial spirit and analytical skills; innovative and creative; lifelong learning, responsible, good at adapting; and open-minded [53]. <span lang="EN-US">As part of the skills demographic bonus towards ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), student preparation still needs to be improved, especially in entrepreneurship skills. The purpose of this research is to find out the entrepreneurial abilities of Universitas Terbuka students and how to improve these abilities. This research was conducted through a mixed methods design consisting of two survey research designs that aim to clearly map and make recommendations from students regarding entrepreneurial skills. This research involved 730 students at the Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation which were then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results of the study showed that: i) Students’ entrepreneurial abilities are categorized as good; and ii) Gender affects students’ entrepreneurial abilities. Therefore, it needs support and concrete steps from stakeholders in welcoming the AEC. There are several necessary steps carried out by faculty leaders and the chancellor so that students have the desire to develop an entrepreneurial spirit, including: by conducting regular monitoring and evaluation of Universitas Terbuka students, providing reward and punishment and equal justice without discrimination and providing training in accordance with their fields, giving permission to continue studies and provide training that can support good performance by coordinating and evaluating work.</span>
