This research aim to investigate the personality type of EFL learners on reading comprehension at SMP N 2 Tapian Dolok. This research method is design as qualitative. The sample of research is taken from IX-2 class that consist of 9 to purposively. The characteristics of the sample are three learners with the highest average scores, three learners with middle average scores, and three learners with the lowest average score. The technique collecting data is interview. The researcher gives some question to the learners and the total questions of question are eight question. The questions are related to the personality type in reading comprehension. The result of this research showed that personality types of learners are different. The researcher found extroverted personality is less often than introverted personality.. From the nine learners, 3 learners are extroverted Personality and 6 learners are introverted personality. The learners with extrovert personality type get higher score on reading comprehension than introvert personality type.

The aim of this research was to obtain the empirical evidence about the effect of using video tutorial in teaching writing procedure text at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar. The method used in this research was a quantitative method and the research design was a quasi – experimental. The sample of the research was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar. They were VII-9 as the experimental class and VII-11 as control class. Each class consisted of 30 students which was selected by purposive sampling technique. The experimental class was taught by using Video Tutorial while in the control class was taught without Video tutorial. Data collection instruments used writing tests for pre-test and post-test, Jacob et al writing assessment rubric was used in this research, which includes two aspects : content and organization. The result obtained from this research showed it was proven from the mean score of the post-test of students in experimental class was 79,56 and the mean score of pre-test was 49,36 that were taught by using video tutorial which was improved better than the control class, pre-test in the control class was 60,63 and post-test in the control class was 71,73. Moreover, the result of the t-test calculation was 2,865 which is higher than that T count < T table where T count was 2,865 and T table for df 58 = 1,672 ( 2,865 > 1,672) than Hypothesis Alternative (Ha) accepted and Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Thus, the use of Video Tutorial gives significant effect in teaching writing Procedure Text at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar.

This paper reports on modelling outcomes for improvements to building energy performance in Indonesia. Long-term climate effects due to building energy demand and carbon emissions are also considered. The global change assessment model (GCAM) was used to generate the related end-user building energy data, including socioeconomics, for urban areas of Indonesia. As a comprehensive study, the total life cycle of carbon in the building sector and the concept of zero-carbon buildings, including energy efficiency, zero-emissions electricity and fuel-switching options, were considered. Building shell conductance (U-value) of the building envelope, floor area ratio (FAR), air conditioner (AC) efficiency, electrical appliance (APL) efficiency, rooftop photovoltaic (PV) performance and ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems were considered as parameters to mitigate carbon emissions under the operational energy category in the GCAM. Carbon mitigation associated with the cement production process was considered in the raw material category. Urban population and labour productivity in Indonesia were used as base inputs with projected growth rates to 2050 determined from the available literature. Low growth rate ‘LowRate’ and high growth rate ‘HighRate’ were considered as variable inputs for U-value, FAR, AC efficiency, APLs efficiency and PV capacity factor to model emissions mitigation. The energy consumption of the GSHP was compared to the conventional reverse cycle ACs to identify the potential of the GSHP as a fuel-switching option. In the GCAM, the benchmark (base case scenario) data set was generated based on input parameters (urban population and labour productivity rate) only for the residential building sector in Indonesia. Total potential carbon emissions mitigation was found to be 432 Mt CO2-e for the residential building sector in Indonesia over 2020–2050. It was found that an average of 24% carbon emissions mitigation could be achieved by 2020–2030 and 76% by 2031–2050.
