Abstract:<p>The role of forest biodiversity in supporting ecosystem functioning is remarked to be context-dependent, and changes in environmental conditions could alter the shape of biodiversity-ecosystem functioning (BEF) relationships. However few studies have explored the processes underlying shifts in BEF relationships along abiotic gradients, which limits our ability to predict how the BEF relationship will respond to the rapid future changes in environmental conditions caused by climate change. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
