The influence of excipients on physical and pharmaceutical properties of oral lyophilisates containing a pregabalin-acetaminophen combination

Abstract: In the case of the investigated pharmaceutical formulations the study evidenced the assembling through physical bonds between the excipients and the 'codrug' complex, which do not affect the release of the bioactive compounds.

“…The first step was to include CAM membrane fragments taken in paraffin. The obtained paraffin blocks were cut into the microtome at 2-3 µm thick, and furthermore the sections were specifically stained with haematoxylin and eosin H & E [29]. The microscopic examination was performed using a Nikon Eclipse 50i microscope.…”

“…The absorption bands at 1230 cm -1 and 937 cm -1 are due to the stretching of C-C bond and rocking vibration of CH 3 [42], respectively, which, although weak, can be found in the spectrum for composite membrane. For pure Para, the characteristic absorption peaks located at 3319 cm -1 and 1554 cm -1 are corresponding to -O-H group stretching and N-H group stretching, respectively [27].…”

“…In recent years, research has been directed towards improving comfort for patients with respect to pain when administrating treatment. Based on this, drug combination therapies have been put forward with the superiority of better analgesic effect when compared to monotherapy [27], whilst improving patient compliance and convenience [28]. Ibuprofen (IBU) is a widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with very little side effects, which is used to treat pain and inflammation [29].…”
