Abstract:Desaturase enzymes play an essential role in the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs). In this study, we identified seven “first desaturase” subfamily genes (Cfor‐desatA1, Cfor‐desatA2‐a, Cfor‐desatA2‐b, Cfor‐desatB‐a, Cfor‐desatB‐b, Cfor‐desatD and Cfor‐desatE) from the Formosan subterranean termite Coptotermes formosanus.
