The Influence of Moisture Content During Resin-Finishing on the Wrinkle Recovery of Cotton Fabrics at 20°C

Abstract: The wrinkle-recovery behavior of 100% cotton fabrics, untreated and cross-linked with dimethyloldihydroxyethylene-urea, has been studied over a range of moisture content and a recent hypothesis involving actual and potential recovery has been applied to explain the results. An explanation is also offered for the existence of a maximal wrinkle-recovery value at moisture contents equal to that during cross-linking.
