The influence of pre-sowing seed treatment by biologically active compounds on soybean seed quality and yield

Abstract: The aim of the experiment was to improve seed quality of harvested soybean seed by pre-sowing seed treatment with biologically active compounds Lignohumate B (mixture of humic and fulvic acids), Lexin (mixture of humic and fulvic acids enriched by auxins), brassinosteroid (synthetic analogue of natural 24 epibrassinolide) and socalled complete seed treatment (mixture of saturated solution of sucrose, Lexin, Maxim XL 035 FS fungicide of Syngenta and adjuvant on the base of pinolene). Four-year experiments prove… Show more

“…The process of seed treatment can be combined with the inoculation of legumes. It can be therefore said that seed improvement is one of the very cheap and highly effective methods of plant protection and stimulation of growth (Procházka et al 2016).…”

“…In order to evaluate this technique, the diffusion of lignohumate—a model artificial humate—was studied using the above-described experimental arrangement. The composition, structure, and physico-chemical properties of lignohumate are discussed in detail elsewhere [63, 68], as well as its biological effects [69, 70]. For our purposes, the main practical benefits of using lignohumate as a model humic biostimulant are its very high water solubility, low molecular size, and reproducible means of preparation, the latter resulting in a stable and standardized structure with standardized properties.…”

“…The seed yield, seed number, and seed protein contents of pea were shown to increase in response to 10 mM EBL treatment (Shahid et al, 2011). In soybean, 24-eBL treatment of seeds before sowing positively influenced seed parameters, including weight (Prochaźka et al, 2016). In lettuce, treatments with BR analogs increased production as a result of an increase in weight (enhanced diameter and length) (Zhang et al, 2007).…”
