In the current economic panorama, innovation is considered to be an important source of sustainable competitive advantage. The literature indicates that organizational culture is one of the most important factors in innovation stimulation, given that influencing employee behavior promotes the acceptance of innovation as a fundamental organizational value and employee commitment to it. As such, organizations should concentrate on promoting an innovative culture that permits the institutionalization of innovation, which may occur by way of planned action or by means controlled by leaders or indirect mechanisms, such as structures, procedures, or institutional policy declarations. The importance of an innovative culture model which serves as a basis for cultural transformation emerges therefrom. Previous investigations have addressed innovative culture models focused on cultural traits and/or cultural determinants. The present study offers a holistic innovative culture model that in addition to addressing cultural traits and their determinants, as is done in other models, and takes into account management competencies and organizational capacities that are required to conform to cultural traits, to achieve innovative behavior on the part of the individuals of the organization.

Big data analytics (BDA), as a new innovation tool, played an important role in helping businesses to survive and thrive during great crises and mega disruptions like COVID-19 by transitioning to and scaling e-commerce. Accordingly, the main purpose of the current research was to have a meaningful comprehensive overview of BDA and innovation in e-commerce research published in journals indexed by the Scopus database. In order to describe, explore, and analyze the evolution of publication (co-citation, co-authorship, bibliographical coupling, etc.), the bibliometric method has been utilized to analyze 541 documents from the international Scopus database by using different programs such as VOSviewer and Rstudio. The results of this paper show that many researchers in the e-commerce area focused on and applied data analytical solutions to fight the COVID-19 disease and establish preventive actions against it in various innovative manners. In addition, BDA and innovation in e-commerce is an interdisciplinary research field that could be explored from different perspectives and approaches, such as technology, business, commerce, finance, sociology, and economics. Moreover, the research findings are considered an invitation to those data analysts and innovators to contribute more to the body of the literature through high-impact industry-oriented research which can improve the adoption process of big data analytics and innovation in organizations. Finally, this study proposes future research agenda and guidelines suggested to be explored further.

PurposeThis study mainly aims to explore the causal nexus between big data-driven organizational capabilities (BDDOC) and supply chain innovation capabilities (SCIC) and innovation performance (IP), then explore the indirect effect of SCIC and also test the moderating effects for both internal supply chain integration (ISCI) and external supply chain integration (ESCI) into the relationship between BDDOC and SCIC.Design/methodology/approachIn order to test the conceptual model and the hypothesized relationships between all the constructs, the data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire by workers in Jordanian small and medium manufacturing enterprises. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the model.FindingsThe paper reached a set of interesting results where it was confirmed that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between BDDOC, SCIC and IP in addition to confirming the indirect effect of SCIC between BDDOC and IP. The results also showed that there is a moderating role for both ESCI and ISCI.Originality/valueThis study can be considered the first study in the current literature that investigates these constructs as shown in the research model. Therefore, the paper presents an interesting set of theoretical and managerial contributions that may contribute to covering part of the research gap in the literature.
