The Influence of Self-Efficacy on Satisfaction and Work-Related Performance

Abstract: Previous studies show that there is an influence of self-efficacy on task performance. “…In addition, another study by Testa, Corsini, Gusmerotti and Iraldo (2018) showed that personal attitudes and PsyCap through selfefficacy influence OCB. This is also supported with other studies (Machmud, 2018;Shefer, Carmeli, & Cohen-Meitar, 2018;Tüzün, Çetin, & Basim, 2018) using samples of employees from different professions in Europe. Akin (2017) in his research using multiple regression analysis established that PsyCap through optimism predicts OCB.…”

“…Social exchange theory derives a sense of reciprocity; thus, as organisational workers are presented with a conducive task environment, they would feel that they need to give something in return and they reciprocate through OCB (Chernyak-Hai & Rabenu, 2018;Konovsky & Pugh, 1994;Spector & Che, 2014). Employees consider psychological capital (PsyCap) a vital element in the social exchange environment of the organisation and employees high in PsyCap also have a proactive personality (Li & Crant, 2018;Machmud, 2018). Psychological strengths promote voluntary behaviour and research has identified PsyCap as a predictor of OCB in the working environment (Avey, Wernsing, & Luthans, 2008).…”

“…Other study also found that competencies, skills, and abilities are the seeds in improving self-efficacy to attain the desired goals (Raza et al 2011). Accordingly, Machmud (2018) asserts that multiple skills increase the individual willingness to execute a certain task which then increases their willingness to make an effort. Bumiputera SMEs can use their human capital characteristic to improve their performance as well as to determine the level of effort they must put to achieve the firm goals.…”

“…Furthermore, empirical studies suggest a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and satisfaction because self-efficacy improves task performance and increases users’ perceived service value (e.g., Machmud, 2018 ; McKee et al, 2006 ). We assume that this relation also applies to mHealth self-efficacy and mHealth user satisfaction.…”
