The Influence of the Intramolecular 2D Interactions on the Physicochemical Properties of Hexasubstituted Benzene Derivatives

Abstract: This paper contains a comprehensive study regarding the synthesis and physicochemical properties of new hexasubstitued benzene derivatives. In this work, three compounds of this type (including two electropolymerisable monomers) were synthesized in a one-step reaction with good yields ranging from 34% to 56%. A thermal investigation shows that this type of compound is stable up to 360 °C (10% weight loss temperature). The influence of the substituents in the first and second position of the central benzene on … Show more

“…The fact that the synthesis step for phenanthroimidazoles does not take long, that a catalyst is not needed most of the time, and that the formation of by‐products is minimal, brings its synthesis to the fore. At the same time, the simplicity and cheapness of these methods make the synthesis of these molecules very advantageous [32].…”

“…This reaction is often used to attach longer substituents (alkyl chains) to –NH in the imidazole structure. For this, there is an organoboron compound and a reagent with a halogen atom (usually bromine) bonded in the reaction medium [32].…”
