The Influence of the Use of Recycled Gypsum on the Properties of Gypsum Products in Labor Conditions

Abstract: The article presents the first results from research, which is deal with recycling of plaster boards and use of the resulting material. The research is carried out within the project MPO Trio c. FV30359 “Recyklace sádrokartonových desek a nová materiálová využití s pridanou hodnotou – GIPSRec”. The plasterboards are produced of stucco, which is calcinated of Flue Gas Desulfurization Gypsum (FGD Gypsum). There is possibility to replace a part of this stucco with recycled material. There is opportunity for savin… Show more

“…This method of protecting gypsum is very effective, but prevents possible future recycling of gypsum. During recycling, the hydrophobicizing additive cannot be separated from the gypsum and thus the calcined gypsum can no longer be mixed properly with the water and thus prevents it from solidifying properly [10]. Another option is to create an environment that does not allow the growth of molds and bacteria.…”

“…Recyclability in the case of gypsum plasterboard is partially limited by the carton and other components added to the gypsum slurry, which reduce the purity of the calcium sulphate and some fundamentally affect the rehydration behavior. The information about the effect of the use of recycled material based on gypsum on the properties are mentioned in tasks from years 2018 and 2019 [2,3].…”

“…Plasterboards were crushing, micromilled and separated from the paper on recycling line, which was developed in company Lavaris s.r.o. [2]. This material was used as an inert to the standard recipe instead of stucco.…”
