The influence of types of collaborative learning models jigsaw vs discovery learning model and learning discipline on learning results

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the jigsaw type collaborative learning model vs discovery learning model and learning discipline on learning outcomes, Message Design courses for students. This study used a quasi-experimental research design with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The data in testing this hypothesis used Descriptive Statistical Analysis and ANOVA (analysis of variance) based on a 2X2 or two-way factorial design. The null hypothesis was tested at a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05). Thus the… Show more

“…from the average value of the experimental class using the discovery learning model of 85.90 is higher than the average value of the control class of 72.10 with the conventional model. This result is in line with research (Usman et al, 2022;Waziana et al, 2020;Kharisma, 2022). The application of the discoveri learning model is able to train students to work together and be able to connect the knowledge they have with the new knowledge found (Muhammad et al, 2023;Simamora & Saragih, 2019).…”

“…Explaining the overall analysis of the effect size of 0.895 with high criteria. Furthermore, the value (Z = 4.178; P < 0.001) then the application of the jigsaw learning model based on hybrid based learning effectively improves students' critical thinking skills compared to conventional learning models (Saputra et al, 2019;Usman et al, 2022). Not only that, the jigsaw learning model can encourage students' cognitive development so as to encourage students to think critically (Cunqueiro, 2016 ;Herawati et al, 2019).…”

“…The low critical thinking skills of students in Indonesia are influenced by many factors. The learning process does not involve students to be active so that students do not have critical thinking skills (Novayani & Nufida, 2015;Usman et al, 2022;Farizi et al, 2019). The teacher only involves students in memorizing and understanding the material (Mahmudah, 2020).…”

“…The more children have the opportunity to do something together, the faster they can learn (Sunbanu, 2019). Collaboration is a concept in studying academic problems and is an effort to train a good generation through academic learning for students to create a harmonious social life through innovative ideas (Degeng et al, 2022).…”
