The influenza virus

Abstract: Influenza is a severe cause of morbidity and mortality throughout the world, resulting in annual outbreaks in all age ranges of the population. With an extensive animal reservoir the threat of emergence of a novel influenza virus, capable of causing a pandemic, has spurred research into novel therapies with which to fight the virus.
