The inhibitory effect of tachyplesin I on thrombosis and its mechanisms

Abstract: Thrombotic diseases are major cause of cardiovascular diseases. This study was designed to investigate the effect of tachyplesin I on platelet aggregation and thrombosis. Platelet aggregation was analysed with a whole blood aggregometer. The mice were employed to investigate the effect of tachyplesin I on thrombosis in vivo. Tachyplesin I inhibited thrombin‐induced platelet aggregation in a dose‐dependent manner. Furthermore, tachyplesin I significantly reduced thrombosis in carrageenan‐induced tail thrombosis… Show more

“…However, ST can inhibit the secretion of CA caused by acetylcholine stimulation of bovine adrenal medulla cells in a dose-dependent manner. The mechanism is mainly related to the nAChR pathway on the cell membrane and the voltagedependent sodium ion channel (Liu et al, 2010b), suggesting that ST can achieve the effect of "brain regulates the heart" by regulating the CNS in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.…”

“…It inhibits platelet aggregation and thrombosis by meddling with the PI3K/ protein kinase B pathway. 24 Several global tests are available to evaluate the function of the coagulation system, including PT, aPTT, and TT (Figure 3B). Rajapakse et al discovered that certain proteins can form an inactive complex with FXIIa, thereby inhibiting its activity.…”

“…It also inhibited platelet aggregation and thrombosis by interfering with the PI3K/protein kinase B (AKT) pathway. Due to its low toxicity and targeted action, it has potential to be developed as a novel antithrombotic drug [ 53 ].…”
