Hatchability is negatively correlated with the percentage of albumen (Godfrey, 1936), while it does not correlate with yolk or shell weight (Rudy and Marble, 1939). Also the developmental increase in egg weight after the onset of sexual maturity is associated with a decline in the albumen: yolk ratio.…”
