The Investigation of the Ferroelectric Phase Transition in Cluster Systems of Order–Disorder Type

Abstract: The critical part of the free energy of ferroelectric clusters with dipole-dipole interactions between the particles is obtained. The calculation of physically different contributions to the total free energy is performed. The recursion relations for the coefficients of block Hamiltonians are solved in several approximations. The suitability is examined of each approximation to the appropriate type of critical behaviour of the system. The values of critical exponents of correlation length and heat capacity are… Show more

“…This enables one to calculate the partition function of the reference system. The main purpose of the method of clusterization developed in [6,7] was to obtain a diagonal and symmetrized form for de Gennes-type Hamiltonian. This becomes possible due to the use of the generalized transition operators…”

“…This component may be called the "active" one is the phase transition process. A similar definition was first introduced in [7]. If Y 16 ( R q ) did not depend on the number of a cell q, then(3.7) describes a uniform order in crystal, i.e.…”

“…To put it in another way, the nonuniversal characteristics of the three-dimensional Ising model have been calculated in the critical region for the first time. This significant result stimulates investigations of phase transitions in different physical objects that can be described by the Ising-like models [25][26][27][28][29].…”

“…Taking the two-particle cluster approximation (see [11]) for short range interaction among particles and the self-consistent field approximation with the accuracy up to the second order of replica expansion for long range one we have for −βH the expression which contains the terms describing the correlation between ferroelectric and antiferroelectric subsystems…”
