The Kumaraswamy G Exponentiated Gumbel Type-2 Distribution

Abstract: Abstract. The distribution due to Okorie et al. (2016) is further extended to a wider family of distribution called the Kumaraswamy Generalized Exponentiated Gumbel type-2 distribution. Twenty two distributions are identified as sub-models of the new distribution. Some of its important statistical properties are explicitly derived and the parameters of the new distribution are estimated through the method of maximum likelihood estimation.Résumé. “…in other to improve the fit of GT-2 distribution, Okorie et al [1], investigated the properties of Exponentiated Gumbel type-2 distribution. The Kumaraswamy Gumbel type-2 was developed and studied by Okorie et al [2]. Recently, Ogunde et al [3] proposed and studied the properties of Extended Gumbel type-2 distribution and Gompertz Gumbel type-2 distribution was studied by Ogunde et al [4].…”

“…On the contrary, in real life situations the hazard rate of many complex phenomena that are often encountered in practice is nonmonotone and cannot be modeled by the Gumbel type-2 distribution. To address this limitation [1] proposed the Exponentiated Gumbel type-2 distribution according to Nadarajah and Kotz [2] version of Gupta, et al [3], Okorie, et al [4] proposed the Kumaraswamy G Exponentiated Gumbel Type-2 Distribution which was obtained by combining Exponentiated Gumbel (EG) and the kumaraswamy distribution [5,6] proposed and studied the properties of Extended Gumbel type-2 ) distribution. Motivated by some of the properties of the generalised distribution with respect to the nature of its hazard function which includes; increasing, decreasing, non-monotone and bathtub shapes as well as the tractability and flexibility of the generalised distribution with improved statistical properties.…”

“…We already published a sample of alike papers : Okorie et al (2017), Radakumari and Irshad (2017), Nganga et al (2017), Tour and Yahia (2017), Gyan (2017), Elbatal et al (2016) and Zeghdoudi and Nedjar (2016), in Afrika Statistika, in 2016 and 2017. From now, papers of that type will be published in the last issue of the year.…”
