Abstract:Peltephilidae (Xenarthra, Cingulata) is an ancient lineage of medium–large‐sized ‘armadillos’ from South America, characterized by chisel‐shaped molariforms, a U‐shaped dental arcade, and cephalic osteoderms modified into hornlike structures.
