The levels of oxidative stress in a combination of stress factors

Abstract: We studied the effect of the combined action of ionizing radiation and induced immobilization stress on the lipid peroxidation process and antioxidant protection of organs (mesenteric lymph nodes, spleen, adrenal glands, thymus, and liver) and immune cels - the blood lymphocytes. Results were obtained on the role of free-radical oxidation in combination with exposure to ionizing radiation and immobilization stress at an early stage in the experiment. Gamma radiation in the acute period resulted in significant … Show more

“…102 During the LP process, primary and secondary metabolites are formed such as conjugated dienes (CDs) and malonic dialdehyde (MDA), respectively. 103 LP products are toxic compounds that alter the functional properties of biopolymers. 104 The stabilizers of the LP reaction are antioxidant system processes, which are normally mediated by endo-and exogenous antioxidants of enzymatic and nonenzymatic nature, which interrupt free radical oxidation reactions.…”

“…LP causes oxidative degradation of lipids in the cell membrane, leads to the oxidation of protein SH groups, and inhibits the synthesis of proteins and enzymes, which provokes cell death . LP products are toxic compounds that alter the functional properties of biopolymers .…”
