Nigeria is located in the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa and shares border with Cameroon in the east, Chad on the northeast, Niger on the North and Republic of Benin on the West. It has a population of about 202 million people and one of the largest populations of youth in the world (Ajakaiye et al. 2016; World Bank Group 2019b). It is the most populous country and largest economy of the continent (Oxford Business Group 2016). Nigeria is a multi-ethnic and culturally diverse country. It is estimated that there exist more than 250 ethnical groups in the country (Oxford Business Group 2016).Nigeria is a federation which consists of 36 autonomous states and the Federal Capital Territory (Oxford Business Group 2016). It is grouped into six geopolitical zones that are characterized by similar ethnic groups, and/or common political history.The country is endued with abundant natural resources, especially oil and gas, and is Africa's biggest oil exporter (World Bank Group 2019b). Per capita income is in comparison to other countries in the region comparably high, however, income distribution is unequal and poverty is an issue (see chapter "Cultural and Socio-Economic Embeddedness of CSR Preferences" Sect. 2). The infrastructure is underdeveloped (Amaeshi and Ogbechie 2010), but in comparison to other African countries still advanced (Foster and Pushak 2011). The educational system is S. Bustamante (*)
