“…Right upper extremity‐dominant subjects are more likely to be right leg dominant as well; so will likely utilize the right leg for goal‐directed activities such as jumping or kicking which may predispose to right lower extremity joint bleeding . Reviewing published series of RS procedures, to our knowledge only two published reports included laterality of orthopedic procedures which reviewing summative data confirms our finding of a right‐sided predominance (N=40 with 25 right‐sided and 15 left‐sided RS procedures; N=27 with 21 right‐sided and 6 left‐sided procedures) . Additionally, it was surprising that there were more elbow injections than knee and ankle, as historically the knee has been most commonly affected joint in PWH and more recent publications suggest that the ankle is now the most commonly affected joint .…”

“…16,17 Reviewing published series of RS procedures, to our knowledge only two published reports included laterality of orthopedic procedures which reviewing summative data confirms our finding of a right-sided predominance (N=40 with 25 right-sided and 15 left-sided RS procedures; N=27 with 21 right-sided and 6 left-sided procedures). 18,19 Additionally, it was surprising that there were more elbow injections than knee and ankle, as historically the knee has been most commonly affected joint in PWH and more recent publications suggest that the ankle is now the most commonly affected joint. [20][21][22] This outcome may also reflect referral bias based on technical considerations of surgical procedures, with a lower threshold for invasive knee arthroscopy and higher threshold for the more challenging procedure in an elbow or ankle joint, especially in the paediatric population.…”

“…In a recent study by Eraghi et al 16 short-term (36 months' follow up) and long term (>36 months' follow-up) results were evaluated as well as complications of 32 P radioactive synoviorthesis in haemophilic arthropathy.…”

“…Detractors of radiosynoviorthesis address the potential stochastic effect of radiations as a contraindication of the use of such a procedure. On the other hand, authors that have used such a technique for a long time did not report any toxic or teratogenic effect on treated patients [18,19,20]. …”
