The lung employs an intrinsic surfactant-mediated inflammatory response for viral defense

Abstract: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes an acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) that resembles surfactant deficient RDS.
