“…4(d), we can see that the cross-section of the pellet presents plate-like grains with the grain size of about 1-5 μm. The appearance of the liquid phase was effective to enhance the densification of the ceramics and therefore improved the mechanical property and conductivity [9,29,30]. This might be ascribed to the existence of the solid solution formed by Y 3 O 2 and Al 2 O 3 which presents as an intergranular transient liquid phase and thus impedes the grain boundary sliding and diffusion [29].…”

“…Since Arrhenius plots of the conductivity data tend to converge at high temperatures (Figure ), it can be suggested that the effect of Sm 2 O 3 additive is manifested in the grain boundary resistance . So precipitates of solid solution at the grain boundaries may lead to increase the grain boundary resistance and activation energies for the specimens containing above 0.2 wt% Sm 2 O 3 . The existence of the impurities, the high grain boundary resistance and nonuniform microstructure can result in decreasing the ionic conductivity when the amount of Sm 2 O 3 was above 0.2 wt%.…”

“…So it is generally difficult to obtain the products with high values on both mechanical strength and ionic conductivity. Therefore, doping with certain oxides is supposed as an effective way to improve the properties of sodium beta alumina ceramic . However, the influence of Sm 2 O 3 on mechanical properties and ionic conductivity of sodium beta alumina electrolyte has not been reported yet.…”

“…The mixed oxides of TiO2 and Al2O3 is a good alternative to overcome the problems of the single phases like stabilization of porosity structure would be obtained at high temperatures. [14][15][16][17][18]. In recent years, synthesized TiO2 powders with control over the crystalline phase, crystallite size, morphology and surface area have been used in various synthesized methods, such as sol-gel, hydrolysis, hydrothermal process, etc [19].…”
