“…ere are abundant vascular perforations in the skin of the medial aspect of the upper arm, and both the skin and tissue are similar to those at the dorsum of the hand. It has been reported that using a flap isolated from the medial aspect of the upper arm to repair skin and soft tissue defects of the dorsum of the hand is associated with good recovery, and a very low incidence of adverse reactions [17,18]. Flaps Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine isolated from the medial aspect of the upper arm site have a good texture and a beautiful appearance, factors which combine to make the site a good candidate for the isolation of flaps to be used in the repair of skin and soft tissue defects of the dorsum of the hand.…”

“…In the treatment of axillary defects, a cranially based medial arm perforator flap can either be applied as propeller flap or V‐Y advancement flap design (Alharbi, Perignon, Assaf, et al, ). And also for elbow defect coverage, the use of a distal perforator‐based propeller flap of the medial arm is a good option (Gong, Cui, & Lu, ; Zang, Yu, Xu, Zhao, Ding, Guo, & Liu, ). Since ‘safe flap dimensions’, were not definite then, it led to complications like flap tip necrosis (Gong et al, ).…”

Since ‘safe flap dimensions’, were not definite then, it led to complications like flap tip necrosis (Gong et al, ). But since we were able to confirm the presence of a constant distal medial arm perforator with a rather circular shaped skin territory, we can emphasise the elegant solution of perforator based propeller flaps for medial elbow reconstructions in due consideration of limited cranial flap harvest.…”
