Purpose This study aims to evaluate the behavioral predictors that affect tourists’ intentions to visit silver screen destinations. Design/methodology/approach The survey questionnaire was composed of multi-item measures, and a total of 432 questionnaires were collected by purposive sampling technique. Participants were asked about sensory stimuli, social stimuli, naturalistic stimuli, cultural stimuli, hospitality culture stimuli, cognitive responses, affective responses and behavior approach, which were evaluated using a seven-point Likert scale. Findings The authors discovered that cognitive and affective responses positively influence the tourists’ intention toward destinations with film-induced tourism, because tourists highly value unique and refreshing symbolic connotations of silver screen destinations, which are commonly predisposed to nostalgia and poetic on the scene. Originality/value The originality of this study and the theoretical value of the present research lies with revealing specific relations within the film-induced experienscape constructs that are based on the multistakeholder and multidisciplinary approach. Moreover, this study puts forward constructive suggestions for destination stakeholders in regard to how to market film-induced tourism that uses a multidisciplinary approach that is encompassed by experienscape constructs, which thereby reinforces the film-induced tourists’ experience and their behavior approach.

In an era where fourth industrial revolution is unfolding before our eyes and digital workplace is making its advancements into everyday life, the international Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is transforming under the influence of metaverse. The present study unearths performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), social influence (SI), facilitating conditions (FC), price value (PV), cognitive (C) and affective (A) responses (R) as the antecedents of behavior intention to use MICE in metaverse. From theoretical perspective, the novelty and originality of current study dwells in portraying the conceptual framework for the consumer behavioral intentions (BI) towards MICE in metaverse based on the stakeholder-centric approach. The practical implications demonstrate that MICE in metaverse can offer end-users remote interaction with meaningful, immersive experiences where consumers can organically interact with each other without losing the sense of belonging within the community as they engage and navigate through various virtual worlds that mirror the best versions of the physical world.
Cognitive-experiential self-theory is a unique model for exploring restaurant patrons’ decision making. Fear and its impact on diners’ decision making, particularly related to specific dining contexts (dine-in, takeout, and delivery), are limited in their representation in the literature. The COVID-19 pandemic provided an instance where a single fear could be explored universally for dining patrons. This study explores how fear influences diners’ perception of risk, antipathy, and avoidance toward restaurant dining and how these factors impact their intention to dine in a restaurant. Furthermore, it investigates how those constructs influence diner decision making regarding the selection of one of the identified dining contexts. Online survey data (n = 1225) of diners were analyzed using SEM. The research finds that fear impacts dining contexts differentially. Additionally, environmental control is identified as a valuable tool in the mitigation of diners’ fear. The pandemic had devastating impacts on the restaurant industry, partly due to the lack of research into fear, particularly in dining contexts. This research helps to fill the important research gap through the findings and theoretical and managerial implications provided.
