The Missing link of Organizational Citizenship Behavior between Workplace Spirituality and Job Performance

Abstract

The study focuses on the effects of workplace spirituality (WPS) with its three dimensions of meaningful work, community and alignment with organizational values on job performance (JP) including employee contextual performance and task performance with organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as mediating variable. The study focuses on Pakistani manufacturing organizations and the study limits itself within the premises of Lahore city only. Four hypotheses were developed and tested rigorously with their fitness and relationships, positive results were found as the research hypotheses were empirically significant and accepted. The present research will help the researchers and policy makers to better understand the mediating role of OCB between WPS and JP. Undoubtedly this understanding will be helpful in crafting better policies and strategies to enhance JP of the employees in private manufacturing sector of Pakistan.
