“…The source of infection in vaginal candidiasis is a problem of some importance; its better understanding should be helpful in the treatment of the condition and in the prevention of further infection. It has been suggested that the intestinal tract is the most important reservoir of infection in vaginal candidiasis (de Sousa and van Uden, 1960;Rohatiner, 1966).
