The Molecular Networks of microRNAs and Their Targets in the Drug Resistance of Colon Carcinoma

Abstract: Drug resistance is one of the major forces driving a poor prognosis during the treatment and progression of human colon carcinomas. The molecular mechanisms that regulate the diverse processes underlying drug resistance are still under debate. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a subgroup of non-coding RNAs increasingly found to be associated with the regulation of tumorigenesis and drug resistance. We performed a systematic review of the articles concerning miRNAs and drug resistance in human colon cancer published from … Show more

“…Colon cancer, one of the most prevalent malignant malignancies in humans, is increasing in incidence annually worldwide [2]. Although chemotherapy is still the predominant ways for colon cancer treatments, many patients show drug resistance after long-term treatment [32]. Although they have fewer side effects and have been used widely as effective substitute treatments for various malignancies, natural products may be an option.…”

“…PD-L1 exosomes can be quantitatively labeled using PD-L1 antibody-modified Au@Ag@ MBA-SERS labeling. Mi RNA plays an important role in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression and plays an essential role in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors ( Li et al, 2021a ; Andrikopoulou et al, 2021 ; Crudele et al, 2021 ; Konoshenko et al, 2021 ; Oh-Hohenhorst and Lange, 2021 ). The nature of the exosomal lipid bilayer avoids miRNA degradation, making the specific miRNAs in exosomes well suited as biomarkers for early cancer diagnosis and prognosis.…”

“…The participation of miR-200 in these processes has been well described, thereby miR-200s may enhance the therapeutic possibilities of EMT-associated cancer metastasis and may even predict therapeutic response [ 140 , 183 , 184 ]. Crudele et al reviewed the miR-200 family network’s connection with resistance to six different anti-cancer treatments [ 185 ]. In this regard, the restoration of miR-200c expression in ovarian and endometrial cancer cells leads to increased sensitivity to microtubule-binding chemotherapeutic agents through the reduction of class III β-tubulin (TUBB3) [ 125 ].…”
