The MORA project

Abstract: The MORA (Matter's Origin from the RadioActivity of trapped and oriented ions) project aims at measuring with unprecedented precision the D correlation in the nuclear beta decay of trapped and oriented ions. The Ee P even T even Beta asymmetry A β · J J · pe Ee P odd T even Neutrino asymmetry B ν · J J · pν Eν P odd T even D correlation D · J J · pe Ee × pν Eν P even T odd tum, and total energy, p ν , E ν the momentum and energy of the neutrino, and J the spin of the nucleus. P stands for the parity transforma… Show more

“…Lastly, the IGISOL facility hosts an atom trap dedicated for trapping of radioactive Cs isotopes and isomers (Giatzoglou et al, 2018). In 2022 the MORA experiment was installed, a trap-based experiment to search for a signature of CP violation in the nuclear beta decay of radioactive nuclei produced at IGISOL (Delahaye et al, 2019). 4.5.2.…”

“…The mora experiment [1] is searching for evidence of cp-violation in the nuclear beta decay of trapped and oriented 23 M g + and 39 Ca + ions. The employed detection setup uses an emit [2] experiment-like configuration which alternates every 45 degrees, there is a dedicated detection system for beta particles and recoil ions emitted during the decay of the isotope of interest.…”
