“…Finally, Wienrich resolved five species infecting rodents that were differentiated by their size, number of flagella, and shape of their axostyle and undulating membrane: Trichomonas muris , Trichomonas minuta , Trichomonas parva , Pentatrichomonas sp., and Pentatrichomastix muris (Weinrich, 1924). T. parva was later considered to be synonymous with T. wenyoni (Weinrich & Nie, 1949) and Trichomonas muris with Tritrichomonas muris , to reflect the number of their anterior flagella (Daniel et al, 1971).…”
